donate!
BtB would like to thank everyone who has made
a donation towards blocking the builders!
Construction work is now underway but we are busy blockading,
observing and keeping people informed of new developments.
Block the builders pledgers are also
involved in court cases resulting from protest actions at Aldermaston.
Support for all of this is both needed and very appreciated.
If you haven't made a donation, but would like to support this explictly nonviolent direct action campaign, feel free to send a cheque made out to AWPC
(but with a note telling us it is meant for BtB) to: AWPC, c/o 18, Greenway Road,
Bristol BS6 6SG
Thankyou.

maps & directions
AWE Aldermaston
Although AWE describes itself as 'Aldermaston', most of its entrances
and meeting points for protests and demos are closer to the village
of Tadley.
By Bus
Buses to Tadley run quite regularly from Reading
and Basingstoke. They also run from Newbury but much less
frequently and you may have to go via Basingstoke at certain times.
For advance info on bus timetables, see the traveline website
or telephone 0870 6082608. From Basingstoke get the number
1 bus, and from Reading, the 143. Buses from Reading and
Basingstoke stop on Bishopswood Road or Franklin Avenue which
are both only a short walk from several of the most used entrances
to AWE and the usual meeting points for demos and other protests.
By Train
Nearest train stations are Aldermaston and Mortimer
(latter more frequently served), but unless you want
a long walk from the station (or arrange a lift -
Block the Builders can help if necessary!), buses
to Tadley from Basingstoke or Reading will be more use.
Train times and live 'departure boards'
from www.nationalrail.co.uk.
On Foot
If dropped by bus in Franklin Avenue, walk west
to Bishopswood Road, then walk north to main A340 road which
runs alongside the base. Head west (left) for West Gate or
right for Main Gate.
By Car
If coming via the M4, exit at Junction 12,
follow the A4 towards Newbury and look out for
the left turning to AWE Aldermaston on the
A340, off a small roundabout about 6 miles
from the M4. For other routes,

of the Friends Meeting House in Newbury.
The full address is:
1 Highfield Avenue

Berks, RG14 5DS
